The May 2026 issue of Le Monde Diplomatique published this article, authored by Benjamin Fiorini, Secretary General of JURDI and lecturer.
The most imperative international obligations of States, particularly France, to prevent the crime of genocide are reiterated when they have "knowledge" of a "serious risk" of the existence of well-documented genocidal acts in the Gaza Strip. It is noted that France has failed to fulfill this obligation by not making all its "reasonably available" resources available to prevent this crime. For example, it has not exerted pressure or imposed sanctions commensurate with its obligations and resources.
The article reports on the legal actions undertaken by JURDI to denounce the "complicit inaction" of France and European institutions in this regard.
