In this press release published on May 15th 2026, JURDI welcomes the decision of the US District Court for the District of Columbia granting a preliminary injunction against the sanctions imposed by the US governement on Francesca Albanese and calls upon the US President to immediatly revoke Executive Order 14203 “imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC).

JURDI also calls for the adoption of a variety of measures by various states and international institutions. Among others, it calls for the UN General Assembly to refer to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) of a request for an Advisory Opinion on the compatibility with international law of extraterritorial sanctions targeting international justice actors and human rights organisations.
