We would like to inform you of the next session of the "JURDI Tuesdays" seminar series, which will take place online on Tuesday, June 2nd, from 6pm to 8pm.
This session will focus on the following theme: "Israel's use of torture and violence against Palestinian prisoners: the example of the death penalty.".
We will be pleased to welcome:
– Aymeric Elluin, head of «Weapons and the death penalty» at Amnesty International France; ;
– Flora Gonseth-Yousef, PhD in Sociology (University of Paris 8), author of the thesis «Palestinian women in the anti-colonial prison movement: logics, spaces and protest strategies».
The seminar will offer a cross-disciplinary reflection, sociological and legal, on Israeli prison practices – with particular attention to the adoption of the death penalty law against Palestinian prisoners – and the dynamics of mobilization carried out by Palestinians from these spaces of confinement.
