This article echoes the press release published by JURDI on the same day (March 4, 2026) and posted on our website, entitled "Crime of spreading false news: report to the Court of Justice of the Republic of the remarks made by Mr. Jean-Noël Barrot".
These are statements that could constitute the offense of disseminating or reproducing false news, punishable under Article 27 of the Law of July 29, 1881 on the Freedom of the Press, following statements falsely attributed to Ms. Francesca Albanese, UN Special Rapporteur.
The report has been forwarded to the Attorney General at the Court of Cassation.
